Cube solver apps depend on accurate color input. One wrong sticker can turn a solvable cube into an impossible-looking state.
The good news: most input mistakes are preventable if you follow a consistent process.
Use bright, neutral light
Red and orange can look similar in warm indoor light. White and yellow can also reflect nearby colors. If you keep getting errors, move near a window or use a brighter lamp before entering the stickers again.
Keep the same orientation
Pick a top face and a front face. Keep those consistent while entering the other faces. If you rotate the whole cube between screens, the solver may receive a cube state that does not exist.
On 3x3, center stickers help you keep track. On 2x2, be extra careful because there are no centers.
Count before solving
A 3x3 cube must have nine stickers of each color. A 2x2 cube must have four stickers of each color. If one color count is wrong, do not tap solve yet.
Rubix Solver shows validation errors so you can fix the issue before waiting for a result.
Slow down on the back face
The back face is easy to enter backward because you are thinking from the opposite side of the cube. Take an extra moment to match what the app is asking for.
