The beginner method and CFOP are both ways to solve a 3x3 Rubik's Cube from memory. A solver app is different: it calculates moves for the current scramble so you can solve without memorizing a full method first.
Understanding the difference helps you choose the right tool.
Beginner method
The beginner method usually solves the cube layer by layer. It uses fewer algorithms and is easier to learn. The tradeoff is speed: solves are usually longer and slower.
If your goal is to solve from memory for the first time, start here.
CFOP
CFOP stands for Cross, F2L, OLL, and PLL. It is the most common speedcubing method. It is faster, but it requires more recognition and more algorithms.
If your goal is speed, CFOP is a natural next step after the beginner method.
Where a solver app fits
Rubix Solver is not trying to be CFOP training. It is a custom solver for the cube in your hand. That makes it useful before, during, and after learning methods.
- Before learning: solve the cube without memorizing.
- During learning: compare app moves with tutorial moves.
- After learning: check impossible states or reset a cube fast.
